Original Medicare consists of: Part A (hospitalization), Part B (doctors, outpatient, and durable goods), Part C (Medicare Advantage), and Part D (prescription drug coverage). If you have Medicare Advantage (Part C) you can not also buy a Medicare Supplement – you can only have one or the other. If you have a Medicare Supplement you’ll also need to buy a Medicare drug plan (Part D) to cover the cost of your prescription drugs.
Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) is a way to protect you from the financial stress of covering the 20% of health care costs that Original Medicare does not cover. You may want to get coverage that fills the gaps in Original Medicare coverage. We can help you choose a Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) policy from a private company to cover what Medicare does not.
